Yes, I have.

You're not interested in progress. You prefer the comfort of familiarity, despite its disadvantages.

And, um, no, I didn't notice the spell check program!
You mean when you type here in the forum, badly spelled words aren't automatically underlined in red? They were for me. Of course, you probably never misspell. 😕

Anti-MTV is the new MTV.

XP works like a charm for me. It's simple, intuitive and more than enough for the use I give him. And it doesn't crash, not until now at least. Why should I bother?

No. If you look very, very carefully you'll see I responded in a manner identical to your own.

Edit: Very, very carefully, mind.

Well, most of the time I don't. When I'm unsure of a word, I type it into google. I hope THEY can spell! I was an English major. Just don't ask me anything about science and extremely little about math/maths, and we'll be fine!😀

Well, if you insist on making this a linux vs windows thread (yet another one):

Linux:

Cost (as in none unless you go with a supported distro)
Easy to use (or hard depending on how deep you're willing to go)
Freedom (as in you can do whatever you like with the system without having to worry about copyright laws)
Lots of free programs available (who's equivalents cost money in the windows world)
Great support on the Internet (and it's really easy to learn how to use it to your advantage using google)

Windows:

Comes preinstalled on most computers
Really easy to use
..
.

Well, that's about it really.

Well no more. Just type the word you're unsure of and if you spell it wrong it should be underscored in red. You sure that's not working? It worked out of the box for me. 😕

Every Windows user experiences the problems inherent in it. Things break, and the user wonders why they never work again; they need to restart their machines often (Linux users can leave their systems switched on for months if they wish)...

Google your way to reasons why Linux is better.

I don`t feel guilty. Windows works for me. My daughter uses windows at school, so i see no real reason to change.

As for Bowman, well..................
Why are your apostrophe marks back to front? 😕

How about:

Linux is a tool.

Windows is a toy.

Because he or she is trying to capture the output of the "s good that everyone else is chillin" command obviously!

Bowdear, there are very few common words that I can't spell. The words I look up are more obscure. My good dictionary is in my classroom, so I can't use that. Believe me, I've had much worse ideas! This one pales in comparison.

Linux is better if you use your computer that intensively. For the average user, the difference is marginal.

If I had to install an operating system, I'd install Linux. But to go through the hassle for a marginal difference, I just couldn't be ar§ed.

Besides, I find Linux fundamentalists quite pathetic. I've recently found out about the installation parties some throw. Gives me the creeps.

You know nothing.

Proof:

'hassle'
'marginal difference'

And I don't get invited to those sort of parties ðŸ˜
