I still don't see why this person hasn't gotten a forum ban yet. He is doing practically the same as accusing someone of cheating.
I'm sure nobody much cares what I do, but I just wanted to say that I don't believe Exy is a cheat, and that I am leaving the site as a result of what I believe to be his unfair banning.
I realise that as a member of the TP Chess Club my opinion is virtually worthless, but Exy was the only reason I joined RHP in the first place, so it seems fitting to me that he be the reason I leave too.
I find it hard to imagine that "overwhelming evidence was accumulated, beyond reasonable doubt", but then I guess we'll never know. I would have thought however that if there were overwhelming evidence, there would be no harm in publishing it. I think it more likely that a decision was made on the balance of probabilities, which is a different kettle of fish altogether, where people may err on one side or the other for all sorts of reasons unrelated to the actual evidence.

What's going wrong with RHP is that every popular general discussion thread seems to turn into name calling and abuse of some sort. Same with a lot of the so-called chess threads like the one on the English Opening which I was interested in. I've been on the 'net a long time and it's still sad that people can't disagree without name calling - or even stick to the topic. If you've got a problem with someone or something, open your own thread.
Personal abuse never wins an argument - it only diminishes the abuser. and pollutes and ultimately destroys what could be meaningful threads.
