Hi

Does anyone have any good ideas of what to get for my girlfriend for Valentines day? She does not wear jewellery and she likes intellectual type books, she also likes boring movies with subtitles.

I was going to post up some sarcastic remark about the fact that it is now the 19th - but then I figured that you knew this anyway and are actually being very organised for next year.

So, if she likes movies with subtitles, have you considered "Amelie" - french language film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Or La Vita e Bella (Life Is Beautiful) - in italien by Roberto Benigni.

Both of these films are great for Valentines day as they are both romantic (although not slushy stuff).

She already has Amelie, it's one of her favourite films. I'm not sure about the Roberto Benigni one though... that guy is annoying. You're on the right track though!

Life is Beautiful is a very uplifting film and I didn't find him annoying in it. The films he has done since are annoying though 🙂
