No idea about the oral tradition, but I seem to remember that was first written down in proto-Aramaic (as far as we know).

Like anyone really cares what you say Ghost!!!

You've worn out your boredom and picking at people, trying to pretend you're good person which we know is far from the truth.

He probably does mean well, though.

I have only ever skated on thin ice (meaning on shallow ponds or driveways).

You've never skated on a lake? Shallow ponds or driveways is as far as you made it?

How did you know the shallow pond was safe you could have gotten you feet wet, were other people already on it? πŸ˜‰

Growing up we had a second home on a lake North of Montreal. It froze over mid November and stayed that way till early May. We spent many happy days playing hockey on the lake and we also had a “Burling” rink. What’s “Burling” you ask? It’s taking a 10lb weight Pumping iron weight” affixing a tree branch to it and sliding it down the rink into 10 pin bowling pins.πŸ‘πŸ˜

I used to skate on a lake when I was pre-teen. Not every winter was that cold, but enough to remember. It was a long walk there, cold shoes hidden under a stone or a low branch, skating for a couple of hours with friends and then the long walk home. Good memories.

We use to play hockey on a pond on a farm, and we would use our boots for the nets. We would be down to t-shirts from winter jackets and woolen long sleeve sweaters as we played. The coat would come off first then the woolen sweaters. This was in -30C temperatures. Many Canadian NHL players started out that way playing on ponds as kids.

Yeah, that is correct. Where did you think I would skate? On Lake Michigan or Superior? Certainly not on Erie!

"Superior they said never gives up her dead."

I did however dangle my young legs in one of perhaps several Devil Lakes in the state I had mentioned, during warmer weather, of course. The water was black but I was unafraid. It was during that trip with my grandparents on my Dad's side that I learned there were other boys named Kevin, because of some news report on the TV in our cabin.

Eleven Kevins, way out of place.
