Pour quoi?
Hmm. When I was a kid, our family did move quite a few times (not for military reasons), but in retrospect I might have turned out to be an Outsider by temperament anyway even if we had stayed in one of the small towns of my youth. I'm lucky to have had the variety of experiences in different locations that I have had. I have also wondered what it's like for others who have grown up and stayed in the same place with relatives and schoolfriends from earlier years nearby, growing up together.
@Arkturos saidMy experience mirrors that which you mentioned at the end of your response. I would call it normal because it was my life. We were a middle-class family, maybe even upper middle class. We had friends and neighbours from pretty much every corner of the world, exposing us to many different world views. In my life there were no outsiders. Even if you were, you wouldn't have been for long. I've had a good life.,

@Great-Big-Stees
Thank you, Stees.
As for the weather here (in a plain-spoken, non-symbolic way) it has been unseasonably/unreasonably cold pretty early [UK: rather early] this winter, but it seems things are trending toward relatively warmer weather and the forecast is that it will be dry (which is good for my roof, which has leaks in it, but bad because of the possibility of fires and smoky air -- in winter!).
OK, so the big winter bill will come a month or two early. Luckily I think my income taxes will be much lower this year and I'll have a loan paid off in the autumn.
@Great-Big-Stees saidVery subtly said my old friend. 😉

-8C here so it is starting to warm up some. 🙂
It is suppose to go up to 2C later today, weird weather for our area.
We have had 3 snow storms on a Sunday and Monday in a row. They are expecting more for this Sunday and Monday but that could change. We missed last weekend no snow just on the chilly side in the - teens.

@Very-Rusty saidWe had a thunderstorm here Wednesday night and most of our snow has melted. Starting on the weekend we are supposed to be getting back to our “normal” weather for this time of year.🤞😁

Yes, that is what I am talking about really weird weather for this time of the year! I don't know whether to wear a spring, fall, or winter Jacket until the day arrives as it can change so quickly here.

@Great-Big-Stees saidI use propane only for heat. I put 60% in the 250 gallon tank (2.85 a gal yuk) before the cold and still have 30%😁.
Our Great Lake (Erie) went from 1% ice covered to 60% in just 6 days. Now it’s 100%, first time since 2011.
@mike69 saidRemember, still time for more winter.🤔😲👍

@Great-Big-Stees saidYes, I live in North Texas, but you don’t pull that off without plenty of cold weather clothes and quilts👍😉.
