Adolescence - a British psychological crime drama television series. It centres on a 13-year-old schoolboy, Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), who is arrested after the murder of a girl in his school.
"Adolescence has been widely praised by critics. "Stylistically bold and beautifully acted from top to bottom, Adolescence is a masterclass in televisual storytelling and a searing viewing experience that scars..."
"In 2025, Owen Cooper, for his performance as teen murderer Jamie Miller, won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, making him the youngest male winner in the history of the Primetime Emmy Awards."

A documentary on Judit Polgar - "Queen of Chess".

The film "All the light we cannot see", based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Anthony Doerr.

Watched "Death Whisperer 3" the past two nights, and as well made as it was in some aspects, it was kind of boring and not as good as the first two in the series.

Glad to know that, I love the book. As mostly happens with film adaptations, certain things have to be overlooked, it's a difficult process but I think they have done pretty well. HandyAndy recommended reading it. The film is on Netflix as a series, good acting.

Peaky Blinders
I am now watching the 5th season of the British historical crime drama, "following the exploits of the Peaky Blinders crime gang in the direct aftermath of the First World War. The fictional gang is loosely based on a real urban youth gang active in Birmingham from the 1880s to the 1920s."
It's an amazing TV production, it is easy to draw parallels to the Italian territorial wars to establish themselves in America and the gang criminality we watch growing in our societies today.
Peaky Blinders will show its 7th and final season shortly and that will also mean the end my many, many hours of watching. 🙂

Hello again. Just watched Pee Nak 3 the other night. It was good to see Aod and his friend Novice Nott playing central roles -- and it seems Aod will also play a prominent role in PN5, which comes out in a day or two (I haven't seen PN4).

Is it foolish of me to fall a little in love with guys four decades younger than me and twelve timezones away -- yes, of course, and I'm glad for that and happy that I can still fall in love.

To be fair, I don't think I could recommend previous entries to casual viewers, but I think that by PN5 they might really have hit their stride script-wise.

Finally found the trailer without the auto-dubbing:

"The Dinosaurs is a groundbreaking documentary series available on Netflix, produced by Amblin Documentaries and Silverback Films. The series, narrated by Morgan Freeman, covers the history of dinosaurs from their appearance in the Triassic period to their demise in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event. It is produced by Steven Spielberg and features stunning visual effects created in collaboration with Industrial Light & Magic." Very interesting.

Young Sherlock

a nice serial story on a hypothetical youg Sherlock and his friend james Moriarty.
The optics of the films are very much like the Sherlock series starring Benedikt Cumberbatch.
