Dose it continue after you leave this world?
Google is 'celebrating' Tim Bergling's 32nd Birthday today.
It's nice that they remember him, but it's a bit weird isn't it?
I don't know of cause as birthdays have been celebrated for a long time, but I suspect celebrating birthdays started to celebrate another year with your child as so many died.
I mean I like celebrating mine, and yours. But after you're gone it feels a bit weird unless you were my immediate family.

    What do you think?

Google regularly celebrate birthdays of famous people. One day it might be Isaac Newton or Alexander the Great.
They probably put Tim Bergling's birthday up to show they were getting down with the kids.

    Yeah I expect so.
I mean, I guess birthdays give a date to remember people by if you don't usually remember them; like famous people like you say.
    I just think it's a bit weird, I mean there's an ending- it's death.
What I find weird is that they've counted how old he would have been, if he was alive. And he's not. You know?

On ad block Brower now, what a bunch of greedy data hoarding bastards Google are, they do things like that so we can have a giggle and say Google aren't so bad.

I once had ads popping up on FB. Right after I spoke with someone on the phone, a landline. The ads were specific too.

It's common to remember celebrities and loved ones on their BD.

Do you think anything is private? Those cookies that you have to accept to view a lot of sites, that's you telling them it's ok to sell your data and that's why you'll get an ad for a Thai bride when you've been watching Asian porn. Just me?

In the end, all we have is the hope that, even after we die, we are remembered by those whose lives we have touched.

Often “we” are remembered but not for more than a generation or two...unless you are “famous”...outside your family unit.🤔

A generation would be what about 20-30 years. We would be fortunate to be remembered for 2 in my opinion.

I would rather be remembered well by those who knew me than by those wishing a high score on a history test.

Maybe a good question for the forum: What famous character from history would you like to have been?

    mom's birthday was the 15th
she passed nearly two years ago
dad and brother and i had lunch, remembered briefly the quirks the lady had and exhibited regularly, then chatted at length about the gastric issues that we menfolk had in common
    momma would have approved

so we attempted to fart in unison, again
this is not as funny as it used to be,
    control issues, dontcha know
