Here is an interesting fact about Canada:

Our country's record for most snow fallen in a 24 hour period is 120cm on June 29, 1963!

In Chapleau on Friday, we had a snowstorm dropping 10cm on us. Today, we have another storm dropping about 15-20cm on us. Wednesday, we are forecasted for another 10cm. Winter is finally here.

I have only heard of Jim Carrey, and Mike Myers out of everyone you listed. I didn't know that these people were Canadian.

I know there is lots, Canada does have a good movie industry, my point was that American and British TV and movies are better, and that is one source of jealousy in Canada.

William Shatner - Star Trek - Captain Kirk? thats what he's best known

John Candy- Uncle Buck, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Canadian Bacon, Summer Rental, Wagons East, Spaceballs, Armed and Dangerous.. the list is long.. also was a part owner of the Toronto Argonauts at one time (he's dead now)

Dan Aykroyd - Blues Brothers, Arrow, Coneheads, Ghostbusters, Spies like Us, Dragnet.. lots of movies..
I'm sure if you saw them you'd know exactly who they are.

Also, Keanu Reaves is Canadian as well ., Keifer Sutherland, .. Donald Sutherland (obviously.. since Keifers dad)..

American movies are better mostly due to budget.. nothing to do with talent.. an american actor is no different than a canadian actor.. its just that there are about 10 times more people that live in the USA than there are Canada.
But, with respect to the movies.. what defines if a movie is British, American, or Canadian.. do you mean by who the producer or director is? or.. where its filmed? who stars in it? I've never understood that aspect.. many popular USA movies are filmed in Canada due to the difference in the $$$..
Did you know the Pacifer was filmed in Toronto? the 4 youngest kids I believe were Canadian.. (my kids had an audition for one of the roles)

Another list: (i bet people are getting tired of them!!)

Top Ten Cities in Canada with Reason

10. Alert, NWT – very famous and always cold

9. Edmonton, ALBERTA – has the world’s largest mall

8. Calgary, ALBERTA – hockey arena shaped like a panty-liner (they call it a saddle . . .)

7. Halifax, NOVA SCOTIA – good seafood

6. Toronto, ...[text shortened]... lot (Winnipeg General Strike), and good fishing in Lake Winnipeg.

Anyone got anything to add?
WHAT?! No Montréal?! Party capital of Canada? More festivals in the summer than you can shake a stick at??

And you call yourself a Canadian. ;-)

At least you read my posts . . .

I made this list off the top of my head. Yes, Montreal is a party house. The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival is one of the best things Quebec has to offer.

you just slid right into the top ten stereotypes on Canada. I can see you're patriotic, do you support or oppose Bush, cause i oppose. Do you support or oppose what America has done to Afghanistan and Iraq, cause i oppose. Do you support or oppose the war on terrorism, cause i support it.

America is a military and economic superpower. Maybe ...[text shortened]... Canada just fine the way it is. i'm only jeleaous because of your TV and movie industry . . .
Canada, fighting the war on terrorism?...LMFAO. Your gov't lets in just about anybody from the middle east without a penny in his pocket and a 3rd grade education with the exception of being an expert at making suicide bombs....as a joke, I applied to come to Canda, and with my salary, education, and life-time pension that would allow me to at least not "mooch" off the gov't, I didn't qualify in points. But let Muhammed show up on a flight from Karachi with no ID and no $, and he gets assylum status, free healthcare, probably an apartment, and eventually citizenship...if that ain't bass-ackwards, I don't know what is....don't feel lonely though, as my gov't is almost as asinine.....maybe it's because I'm too patriotic...something that would make Canada a great country that it once was and still is in some regards....

I spent 4 years in Canada at university and I can tell you that they can teach the Americans a few lessons on patriotism (like travelling with flags on their backpacks, cheering on their hockey team through thick and thin, smuggling a very large Canadian Flag into the closing ceremonies of the Olympics...twice, giving standing ovations to an actor professing his proud Canadian values in stadiums around Canada ("Canada is the second-largest land mass, the first nation of hockey and the BEST part of North America!" ))

Don't take my word for it, though. Spend a year in Canada and see for yourself.

Shouldn't ever have left the British Empire, maybe...
