Who banned Stocken.

Curious: I'd like to know for what Stocken was banned. And I'd like to know who did the banning.

I'd also like to request a clear outline of what deems a post, or a thread, removeable, and a player banned from forums, and also what dictates the length of the ban.

Is all of this information available somewhere for reference, or is it simply a "pull from your butt as desired" style ruling system?

Have you asked him?

As someone who has been banned several times, my suggestion to you, and to Stocken, is to just view the time off as a blessing and don't try and wrap your head around why he was banned or why x is bannable but y isn't. Such is the nature of this place.

BF or Phlab will accomodate Stocken's request for clarification, I'm sure, but the other mods won't tell you anything.

Don't even bother, since the majority of action is determined by personal opinion in terms of the perception of the rules, what is one man's 'within accepted limits' is another man's 'burn at the stake sicko!'.

Besides, I'm sure the dirty swede deserved it.

So you're saying you find it a blessing to be banned for no reason, have nothing explained to you, and have nothing as a clear reference to avoid being banned?

These methods of modding remind me of inferior twerps who finally get to hold the power button, and can't help but burst with each and every use.

Maybe a prerequisite to modding should be ownership of a stable mind.

Cheers - loving the abuse.

I didn't ban Stocken so can't say, but as you asked so nicely I'll endevour to find out. I can appreciate that if you honestly don't kow why you've been banned, and you don't know who banned you so you can't find out, it must be very frustrating.

Maybe I just don't care, SJ. Maybe I don't take it seriously. Is that so wrong?

Obviously, he said something to offend one of the moderators and they banned him. BFD. Bitching will not get you re-instated nor will anyone provide you with the guidelines you're asking for.

I was banned 7 days for obfuscating the f-word (I switched the u and the c) and I was banned 3 for explicitly detailing a sexual act between Jesus and Mary. Which do you consider more offensive?

Yes, I have asked him, and he has no clear idea as to why he was banned.

Great plan mods. Ban people for nothing obvious, and don't tell them why. Seems like a good way to push people out of forums completely, as they'll have no idea what is banworthy.

Ha ha. Like that would push him out of the forums completely!

I agree. I find this kind of bans completely meaningless. It serves nobody when someone is banned without knowing why. It just makes people angry at the mods.

I haven't read anything by stocken lately which sounds bannable, but of course I may have missed it because it was most likely deleted.

Curious. I think people should be told exactly why they were banned.

But - as someone who is constantly considering quitting the forums altogether - I tend to agree with Darvlay. He's not missing much.

I believe she was talking about those mods who ban people without a warning or explanation.
