Maybe if they didn't have to guess at the reason for their ban, they could avoid making the same "mistake" twice.
Guidelines for acceptable forum posts have been outlined many times and are available in the TOS under the member conduct section. Everyone is aware of what they're posting and has agreed to the TOS conditions so should therefore know if they're crossing the line or not. Why should the Mod's have to give up their time to spoon-feed banning reasons to people who knowingly cross the line of conduct or haven't taken the time to read the conditions they agreed to when registering on this site?

What takes more time, giving a short explanation or giving bans repeatedly?

I think if an email is sent along with a copy of the ban-able post to the banned player. Banning might work better in the future.

Particularly as in this instance, it seems the banned poster seems to think he was banned for starting an inoffensive thread and it wasn't his fault that it got offensive several pages in.

Maybe starting threads about Red Night is a bannable offence. If it isn't yet, maybe it should be.

The guidelines are not cut and dried and enforcement is inconsistent at best. There is an inordinate amount of leeway given to some posters. The rules can be, and frequently are, stretched to the breaking point. Since the reason for a ban for one person and not another at least appears to be arbitrary much of the time, a simple, brief explanation would be a great courtesy to the offender.

In this case (thread topic) there was no "TOS" offense on Stocken's part that I saw, and none that he is aware of either.

The nastiness began, like I said, well after he signed off.

You can't just ban people for doing nothing wrong, and give no explanation.

How can someone banned find out who banned them? If this (as mentioned earlier) is strictly between stocken and the moderator to sort out, who is the freaking moderator. Apparently he isn't stepping up to give an explanation.

So are reports of Stocken saying he was going to punch someone and hoped they went to hell untrue?

Perhaps he should just stop being a whiny girl about it.

That was Red Night, not stocken.

Bans are reality checks and should be taken with a grain of salt if you will. We have all violated the TOS to one degree or another. Consider this as a debt catching up to Stocken and nothing personal.

Irregardless of your thoughts a moderator decided otherwise and a ban was imposed.

Who banned them or why is irrelevant. The fact is that they have been banned, End of story.

People who are not happy should either stop posting or take themselves off to another site - but they won't because they get away with so much on here.

Maybe some people here should start acting their ages and not their shoe sizes.

😠

Let's be clear: He's not whining about this, I am.
