No. But maybe some people care. Is that so wrong?

I agree. I find this kind of bans completely meaningless. It serves nobody when someone is banned without knowing why. It just makes people angry at the mods.
I haven't read anything by stocken lately which sounds bannable, but of course I may have missed it because it was most likely deleted.

Why should people be told? So they can argue the toss over it? If they just tried harder to stick to the ToS, they'd be less likely to get banned. Telling them only gives them the reason they need to bitch about it, perhaps they should have tried harder not to get banned in the first place.

EDIT: I do the first, you do the second 🙂
Originally posted by darvlayI see this as two separate issues. If he doesn't know why he's banned, he should get an explanation (better even, the post should get deleted and he should get an explanation for that, and only if he'd repeat the same thing, he should get a ban). If he doesn't like that explanation and thinks that the reason why he was banned should not be a reason for a ban, that's a different issue. Obviously people will always disagree about what should be moderated and what shouldn't, and it's the site owners and moderators who decide, if we like it or not. As long as I know their rules, I don't have much of a problem with that (although it can sometimes be really annoying, when you can't discuss something you would like to discuss).

This thread should have been closed after the original post, as it is none of any of our business. It is between the mod and the banned player. It should not become public debate. All that can become of a thread of this type is a bunch of opinionated post that in the end will not resolve anything.
Are you a Baptist?
