Who banned them or why is irrelevant. Thje cat is that they have been banned, End of story.

People who are not happy should either stop posting or take themselves off to another site - but they won't because they get away with so much on here.

Maybe some people here should start acting their ages and not their shoe sizes.

😠
If it's irrelevant why someone gets banned, maybe random bans should be introduced. That would spare the moderators a lot of work, and people wouldn't wonder why they were banned because they'd know it was random.

What are you talking about? Have you ever been banned?
What would you think if you were banned for the post you just posted?

Stop arguing about it, and the thread will die. Or find a hammer.

What will happen if the thread finds a hammer?

We get a ban.

It's is ridiculous to ban someone and not tell them why.
I personally have never seen that happen on any other sites,
apart from a few naff ones.

Yes, but as I mentioned before, if the mod deletes something a
couple of times and the user continues to repost it, then I don't
think it's quite as weak a reason to ban somebody as for
just "quoting a link to a site about the etymology of a
"forbidden" word.", as you put it.

By leaving out that detail, you make the mods sound pettier than they
are.D

One of them banned me for just posting that link - I assume
that was the reason, how would I know? No one ever told me.

I've heard the UK police like the idea and are to start picking people
at random and sentencing them with no explanation - should clear up the
crime rate in no time.

In speaking with Red Night, it appears that a lot of people who were participating in that thread are not here today. It's safe to assume that whatever went on in that thread was taken a bit too far and some wrist-slaps had to be handed out. It's sounding more and more to me like stocken was simply "caught in the crossfire" like SJ said. That kind of banning is pretty crappy, I must admit, but you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, right SJ?

Some people here fail to comprehend this and see it as a horrible miscarriage of justice which is totally laughable.

Great idea.

People could then stop posting for a few days and then claim they had been randomly banned.

Exactly.

Do they think the forums are suddenly going to implode because a few people have been banned?

All hot and bothered over a few words in cyberspace.

Well, that's only what I'm piecing together. That may or may not be true. If it is true, I don't think he should be reinstated because then the moderators will simply have more people banging on their doors complaining that they should be reinstated. If I ran this place, any crybaby who complains about his banning, warranted or not, gets it doubled. Nex time you complain, it's a permanent banning. A 3(d), if yo will.

What's next? T-shirts and banners saying "Free the RHP one" or just more pointless whinging?
