@karoly-aczel saidSo much for your Buddhism, beer and weed.
F*** OFF!!
@divegeester saidtried therapy many times, its hard to explain what triggers an attack , the last one was a few years back a month or so after my mother past away , I was driving down the a19 when I knew something was wrong so I pulled into a lay bye and blew in a bag, that calmed me down long enough to get home, the only thing that fixes me fast is Valium.
Anxiety attacks can be very debilitating, however, speaking as a lay person who has suffered from "anxiety" I can tell you from experience that the longer-term solution is cognitive therapy as the hormones are driven by thoughts. You've probably gone through long periods of constant stress.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidGhost is spot on.
Benzodiazepines can be prescribed for a variety of reasons. It depends on why you're taking it (or considering taking it). Probably best to speak to your GP about that.
@badradger saidMild beta-blockers can help if you know in advance that you are going into a stressful situation.

Lots of good (and well informed) advice in this thread.
Let's not forget to throw 'regular exercise' into the mix.
@badradger saidThe exercise will certainly be helpful. It is good for the mind as well as the body.

@very-rusty saidstress is a mind killer. Negating it retains more of the information.
Try and keep yourself stress free. I don't know if these forums are helping your issues any to be honest with you.
