I have three children in my life and I plan in a few years to foster children and possibly adopt if I can...
I love kids and want to protect, guide and watch them grow into amazing unique beings...
I dont see the three I have as MINE, they have come to me and I have been fortunate enough to experience the creation of life first hand...
People look at adoption for many different reasons and with most women its all pretty much emotional ones with good intentions, love and generousity...
I hate to say what Michael Jackson once sang has stayed with me... "Heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race"

If more people viewed children not as yours or mine but ours I have no doubt there would be much less sufferring in the world and a whole lot more accountability. Maybe then people wouldn't turn such a blind eye to children who were being neglected or abused just because they aren't "their" children thus not "their" problem. Every single person and their actions (or lack of) affect every other person in this world in one form or another.
How you doing Shell. I've been soooo sick π
Hopefully we can do a bit of catching up this weekend. π

I also have 3 kids of my own and a foster daughter, my foster daughter has been more of a challenge than my own children but the rewards are great,.
When she first came to us she wouldn't talk or smile was scared of everyone and everything.
Now she smiles constantly you cant shut her up! She is happy and has learned how to trust and what it is really like to be in a loving family, we are now applying for full guardianship for her!

(totally off-topic but) it's funny you should say that:
i was told for years how much i looked like my (step) dad, it happened so often that I eventually stopped bothering to point out that it was purely coincidence.
