Muscle loss can start after age 30 actually. Keep up the good work though as you are helping to build muscle, many people claim that swimming works all your muscles. I believe it to be true, also one feels very relaxed after a good swim, especially in the ocean, pool works too. Keep up the good work!!!

“Cognitive decline may begin after midlife, but most often occurs at higher ages (70 or higher).” (Aartsen, et al., 2002) “…relatively little decline in performance occurs until people are about 50 years old.”Feb 20, 2009

Trainers claim that being in shape also helps one mentally. I suppose that would be up for debate and don't know any actual testing that was done to prove that although someone may have stats on that or want to look it up.

Yes, exactly.

Scones, biscuits. Biscuits, cookies.

Crisps, chips. Chips, fries.

It goes on and on forever.

It's what you have deserved after your workout.

So you wind up putting more calories on than you've burnt off? Doesn't make much logic to me.

Or the other way around - if there's food that you love with extra calories, you have to work (out) for it.

Anytime I eat something that I know I shouldn't be eating I feel bad about doing it, so it doesn't happen often in my case. It is a rare occasion I will treat myself to food considered bad for me.

Pretty much anything is fine, in moderation. (For the average Joe without serious health problems or allergies).

I’ve started having a protein drink with skimmed milk then eat as much as I possibly can as long as it has a low saturated fat value ~ then I sometimes fall asleep for an hour. I’ve been a skinny oink since retiring and struggle to keep my weight on.
