Funny thing about posting messages. Yesterday I posted a message in one of my games saying, "You are so evil!". I thought I was being witty and warm to my opponent. Opening up the possibilities of a new friendship based on our intellect and respect for each other.
But what came back was a complaint. He said, "What do you mean by that?"
Well, I ...[text shortened]... n't see anything as funny because they never laughed as a kid.
Help me out here.

I haven't had a convo with anyone I have played, but always send a message of thanks for the game at the end. I haven't recieved one of these messages from anyone else, and have had no replies to my thanks. Am I the only one that extends this common courtesy to thank a person for their time and effort? I hope not.

Most of the people with whom I've chatted during games are quite fun to get to know, and many are people I've ended up playing multiple games with.

He/She didn't get it.
I'm assuming he was torturing you in the game and you were making a joke of the way it was going .. right?
I woulda got it, I think. I would have taken it as a complement to my play .. but then, I have a sense of humo(u)r .. an evil one.
I hope there are no people void of any sense of humo(u)r. That would be just sad because, for me, a sense of humo(u)r has gotten me through some pretty rough times.
I think he just didn't get your "joke" .. and it went downhill from there.
