I've been following this thread and am now of the opinion that the General Forum and other forums that I frequent, are adequate for me, giving me an adequate opportunity to engage in conversations with these people you mention and potentially many others, so I am withdrawing my name from consideration. With all due respect, I don't want to give a false impression that I would be an active contributor to the club.

I do have a complaint about some RHP open forum contributors who IMO transgress the RHP terms of service on a regular basis, but I can identify them and ignore them on my own.

"... why don't you create the club and see who joins?" (divegeester)

Simple Answer: I care too much about this site, its members and administration to be party to sponsoring a fiasco.

Rationale: It's prudent to count the cost in time and effort before building any establishment (whether an all suite hotel, a home or a private club). It's also wise to have some idea as to the likely number of transient guests, family or durable members in order to justify the investment. If there's momentum, the decision will make itself and there'll be no looking back. If interest dwindles, we'd be fools to do otherwise than to accept the hard facts. Any further critical questions? Thanks, JS. You've obviously sized things up and made a thoughtful decision. Though you'll be missed, I'd rather lose a prospective member now than an actual member later. Please remember that you're still welcome should things change. (gb)

Recently, after six years, discovered how "My Images" works.
Guess it's like a new toy. Sooner or later the novelty will wear off
(though I doubt it). lol Do you have any preferences?

I am a regular human being.
I play chess for fun. I'm not a genius by any means.
My level of intelligence is average I reckon.

"Good, Phranny. Maybe your friends will also join. Let's hope it becomes a reality. You're asking questions I'm still asking myself. Let's think out loud. Different in terms of thread volume and number of posters; private and personal, rather than public and semi-personal. Similar with respect to range of topics, thumbing, occasional hijackings and squabbles .

Motive is less personal than experimental. During 2013, I've wondered if a relaxed nucleus of reasonable adults without hidden agendas would be able to simulate the comfort and tone of a civilized party (at which nobody's trying to play king or queen of the mountain or has to leave through the bathroom window because it's so boring. lol). Further fracturing this forum or hurting the interests of site ownership is last thing in the world I'd want to cause. I owe much to Russ & Chris." (page 2)

divegeester, I'm happy to answer your questions. They are, however, becoming tedious and intrusive in context with the invitational purpose of this thread. If you're not interested in joining, please use the site's personal messaging feature for any additional questions or criticisms. Failure to comply with this simple request will result in my request for assistance. Thank you. (gb)

"The Guidelines"

"The following twelve points are the guidelines that should be followed when posting to the forums.

1. Discussions in forums can often get heated, but while you may take issue with another poster's viewpoint, you must not resort to personal attacks or abuse.

2. Do not post offensive or inflammatory remarks that stray beyond the bounds of reasoned debate. Calling another poster an "idiot" will leave a post subject to immediate removal.

3. Do not post profanity. There may be occasions where the context of certain words may be acceptable, and this will be at the moderators' discretion, however posts containing profanity will often be removed automatically by the "robomod". There will be situations where it removes inoffensive posts, but this is unavoidable.

4. Do not post material which is obscene, indecent or pornographic.

5. Please stay on topic. There is clearly a subjective judgment to be made as to whether a post strays off topic and in the majority of cases the post will not be deleted unless it is considered to be disruptive to the thread and its participants.

6. While it is acceptable to post links to external articles and information, you may not use these forums for advertising or promotion of products or services or canvassing support for political parties or movements. You may post links to personal home pages, but repeated spamming of such links is not permitted.

7. Do not make defamatory posts. While reasonable criticism of an individual or organization is not in itself libellous, any post that adversely affects the reputation of a clearly identifiable person or company is likely to be removed.

8. Do not harass other members of the community. Harassment is any unwanted conduct including insults, jokes and any remarks affecting the dignity of another. Such conduct could relate to gender, race, nationality, sexuality, religion, disability or other similarly sensitive issues.

9. Do not post information which invades the privacy of another individual, or the disclosure of which would breach an individual's reasonable expectation of confidentiality.

10. Any posts which are deemed to be incitements to commit criminal offenses, or any post which seeks to influence another to commit an offense will be removed.

11. Repeated posting of the same material (spamming) is not acceptable. Overly trivial posts may be removed at the discretion of the forum moderators if they are deemed to be disruptive or distracting to the thread and its participants.

12. Do not rant. Ranting is defined here as a style of post that comes across as a political broadcast or an angry protest that does little to progress the discussion or to involve other posters. Such postings often feel like an intrusion into the general debate, regardless of the validity of the points being made." FAQ: Forum Guidelines (notation mine, for ease of reference)
