Halloween is much more creative than xmas and easter in the minds of the young generation.

Also for adults, halloween movies are much more memorable thanks to the horror gene.

My favourite holidays are the summer holidays 😀
And lets not forget going out on Halloween night... 😲

Halloween used to be my favorite as a child and young adult, for very different reasons. Now i don't have a preference between holidays.

Easter is the ancient Pagan Spring Solstice festival ( Eostre ). Christmas is the ancient Pagan Winter Solstice festival. Given the information available concerning the birth of Christ, there is absolutely no chance he was born in December.
Fully agree, Aycee, and appreciate your unemotional, lucid post. Shepherds tended

their flocks on the hillsides beginning in early spring (probably March in context).

Thought content of our frontal lobes has an extraordinarily long shelf life. We have an ironclad guarantee our temporal bodies will one day outlive their usefulness and return to dust. Not so with the content of our noggins. That, Sir, is the ticketed personal baggage (of knowledge and ignorance) that goes with us on the non-stop train bound for one of two addresses for all eternity. -gb

And your personal baggage aboard the eternal train, wherever it's headed, will include the
misguided mumpsimus that celebrating Halloween is equivalent to worshiping the devil.

God bless you.

Master Conductor inspects and checks all personal baggage. Passengers hold

validated ticket stubs for their own baggage only, seated in their own seats.

P.S. Thanks for the GB.

Knew it, Ayceebee. Just didn't smell right. The word store on gargle where Handrew
has had an account since college is owned and operated by parent company Wiki.

😏

I see and hear daily that you of the Clergy preach one against another, teach one contrary to another, inveigh one against another without charity or discretion. Some be too stiff in their old mumpsimus, others be too busy and curious in their new sumpsimus. Thus all men almost be in variety and discord.

Henry VIII (1491–1547), British monarch, King of England (1509-1547). speech, Dec. 24, 1545, to Parliament.

even though this wuz a new word fer me az well, and since i have never used it in conversation except to tell my dog that i learned a new word, and accused him of being such when it came to hiz suppertime, i personally would go with THIS source for a definition...
