How does everyone feel about it? I think it's a little overrated.

My wife had hers taken out because the first and second nodes were cancer ridden. Now she's diabetic and anaemic.

But, hey, better than the alternative, eh?

I'm glad I've still got mine.

Actually, I don't think it's fair at all. She never smoked in her life, doesn't drink, doesn't eat junk food. Why couldn't a drinker/smoker have got the cancer instead of her?

EDIT: BTW, wanna sell your spleen? What's your type?

My 78 year old mother-in-law had her spleen removed several years ago after an accident, has no ill affects whatsoever, doesn't miss it at all.

You are right, all that stuff about karma is hard for me to believe. It seems like the worst stuff, happens to the greatest people. I,m sorry about your wife, thank God she is still alive.

Hey fellow sideways looker, I am glad she is still around. Take good care of her and yourself!

Yeah, life's a bummer full of pain and taxes, then you die. THEN the government makes your family pay!!!!

But, as I always say, it could be worse. I could lose my sense of humour or become a pessimist...

My German Shepherd had his spleen removed too, tumour - cost a packet. [£1200+]
He says he didn't notice the difference after it healed up.

hey just because someone smokes and drinks doesnt mean they deserve other peoples illness. smokers and drinkers are funding society through all the taxes, then they often kick off early, so dont put much pressure on pensions and other elderly services.
hey maybe you two should take up smoking and drinking yourselves, before its tooo late? πŸ™‚

I've been smoking since I was 7 and drinking since 15. After a family member was diagnosed with tuberculosis, I was told that I definitely didn't have cancer. Maybe copious amounts of hash and grass cancelled out the harmful effects of the tobacco?
I did give up tobacco for 8 months last year (for health reasonsπŸ™‚), but started again when the wife was rushed into hospital for her emergency gastrectomy/splenectomy/gall bladder-ectomy (or whatever they call that one).
