Horrible. I used to have those episodes where I could not move or even open my eyes. I would dream that I was yelling, but I wasn't. I would think I had moved an arm or leg...or even that I had sat up in bed. But I had not moved a muscle. It was always when I was napping during the afternoon. Dreams had nothing to do with it. Even worse were the times ...[text shortened]... ought about those episodes for years. I do not know why they stopped, but thank God, they did!
Good to see you posting mrs Ale.

False awakenings are kinda fun, after the fact. They can be nested! Awake from a dream, whew. Then do it again.

Insightful thought exquisitely worded. Nice.

Thanks! I had to cut back on my games due to added students. I chatted so much over my chess games that it left no time to even visit the forums of my clubs.

At last count, there were 26, but they only count as 24 because two sisters alternate weeks with their two brothers. I have 9 boys now, and another two may start. I taught their dad. 😉

Many other qualified instructors in your community?

Helpful summary of animal and human fear, begining with 'survival'. Unfortunately, it omits a major one
... the fear of being found out.

There had been five piano teachers in the same town a couple of years ago. Now there are only two of us. The other lady was National Teacher of the Year back in about 2005. She was the North Dakota State Teacher of the Year the previous year. She belongs to the National Piano Teachers' Association that requires all students to compete state-wide and nationally. The competitions are for performance and composition. I do not belong to this, as my nerves would not be able to stand the pressure. She had an advantage of taking all the local doctors' children as students. They were all from India! Talented people with a strong work ethic.

Being found out for or of what Bobby?

I have no fears of those either, as I have never done wrong or wronged to another.

Is you presumption about me yet another of your unfounded rhetorics?

Sounds like stern competition. Bet your student retention is extremely high.

P.S. Thanks for the forwards about the election.

I suppose some people have no fear, but they are aberrations who don't live long.

Self denial of the worst kind.
