Would you join a new private club if I started one? (gb)

adopt one of the defunct clans. If the membership grows beyond 20 it's ample time to found a club. Maybe there are defunct clubs also...

Any ground rules or will they be the first item to discuss?

Same as those governing the rest of the site. Good taste and respect for the personalities and opinions of others goes without saying. It'll be relaxed, lively and enjoyable or we'll quorum vote on shutting it down. That's #101. lol

We'd need a motto. "We're in This Together" is the first to come to mind. Name? Haven't a clue. Some wording to emphasize "Diversity and Creativity". Be great if we could attract and recruit a healthy percentage of ladies as well.

Net, if a new private club results from this thread, it will be Our private club not gb's.

Also, membership would be wide open to any and all site members in good standing. No Application would be declined. No Member would ever be summarily booted out. Anyone opting for the short haul will do so of their own accord.

My primary challenge would be to keep a low profile. Yes, it'll be a challenge for a socially assertive guy. That's where You come in. We mesh. We benefit each other. In business I always surrounded myself with strong people. We all prospered!

Thanks, JS357, for your question which enabled me to anticipate a few probable questions early on. (gb)

If there would be a place in this club for the socially inept, with several personality disorders and a bad attitude, then I'm your man....

Sure, Phil. We're easy. Any ideas for a motto or name?

How about 'The Society of Friends' 'For the betterment of all.'

I'm thinking classically, and it may be a bit corny; anybody care to comment?

I thought of the same thing! Society of Friends is the name of the present day Quaker church. I was engaged to a fellow once who was a Quaker. I have attended a few of their meetings. 🙂

    "Oasis in Space"

"A casual internet forum where new and old friends gather to swap a few thoughts and laughs at no one's expense."

Note: Tries to capture the spirit of a relaxed place and refreshing experience. Best I've got so far. Need your ideas?

Observation: Just noticed the Original Post has received 2 Thumbs Down in less than 24 hours. How pitiful, how sad.
