The next round of the RHP Photography Competition, "Chess", will open in about two weeks. The deadline for entering is Friday, 3 March. You can enter up to three pictures. Send them to rhpphotocomp@gmail.com , together with the following information:
* Title
* Comment: Advanced editing, for example removing or adding objects, use of special effect filters or major colour adjustments, must be mentioned. Other comments, for example details about the equipment and settings, basic editing or some background info on the picture, are optional, but encouraged. If in doubt whether something is basic or advanced editing, just ask, or even better, simply give a little more information than absolutely necessary.
* Your RHP nickname (that won't be revealed before the round is over)
Please keep the file size under 200 kB, and the picture shouldn't be bigger than 1024x768 (I'd suggest 800x600).
The pictures will be displayed on my webspace. You can choose to have your pictures removed when the round is over. You can also choose to leave them there, but have your name (real name or RHP nick) added.
If you are new to the competition, you might want to have a look at previous rounds: Thread 38433. It would also be nice to get some more discussion about the pictures of the last round, "Humour": Thread 37850
If you have further questions, ask them here or send me a PM.

I'm racking my brain on this one, but as yet, I haven't been able to think of anything. 🙁

Originally posted by magnublmYeah, I still have the tripod out since taking about 100 pics last night. Nothing worthwhile as my chess board pieces are a little too small. I'm going to borrow my buddies board and pieces for a few days to see if I can come up with something decent.

Its a good opportunity to try to get to know my new camera anyway.

Originally posted by NordlysI love it, but I haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet.
So, how do you like it so far?
I've used it more today and yesterday taking pictures of my chess set than I have since I got it. I'm quite happy with some of the pics I've taken. Just playing around with lighting and depth of field.
Its my first real camera, so I'm getting used to a lot of the features, but it seems very intuitive and easy to adjust settings.
I couldn't imagine being a film photographer. I've taken about 200 pics in the past couple of days which would be unfeasible with film.
