I think its too much in a competitive market kinda way it would be Ok $39. 95 if there weren`t other more tempting options online.
I think ICC is best for folks who wish to pay and receive the best online chess possible.(arguably at least since a few others might be quite nice too).
This site is kinda good for correspondence though and the forums are good I think.
If I was in charge I would consider chess purchasing chat as chess chat.
I personally would treat this like folks deciding which chess books to buy.
I wouldn`t recommend chatting about car purchases unless you were to put an red hot pawn on the side of the car.
Funny, I'm in the market for a chess site. I agree the $40 tag is a bit much, but spread out over a year its not much. I would resub here if there was a rated blitz. I am kicking around the chess.com thing but I thought it was a tad choppy in the blitz. I am enjoying chesscube very much but there isn't cc on that site. Is there cc on playchess? What I'm looking for is a site that has cc and normal/blitz on one site.

But there are the Debates, General and Site Ideas forums

chess com's live chess interface is renewed and solid.
