Redhotpawn's blitz is much superior to the blitz of that other site, unfortunately both are littered with newbies though 😛

30 was fine, but at 40, I can't promise I'll be around when subscription time comes around. I think 40 is getting pretty steep.
Your subscription rate doesn't change if the price goes up. Those who joined when it was still 20$ will always pay 20$ assuming they don't cancel their subscription and then decide to come back.

No, to be honest, I think there's nothing RHP has to offer except non-inflated ratings and the chess only forum community.

I'm always with the more & free on these issues. Same applies to Chess.com's non-free tactics training vs. Chesstempo's free and way much better tools, or many "videos by masters" sites (including chess.com's non-free videos section) versus the free chessvideos.tv, the list would go on.

1) Wormwood beating Weyerstrass
2) Greenpawn reinventing Chess History
3) SwissGambit brilliantly sliming his way past 1500s
4) Squelchbelch giving us a detailed guide on how to use metal detectors
5) Nowakowski explaining his Chess Improvement Program
6) Fat Lady being obsessed with chessplayers who are stronger than her
7) Orion stalemating a newbie right after reading a stalemate thread
8) Mikelom being forum-banned for two years for saying dirty stuff
9) Ice Cold trying to keep things friendly
10) Heinzkat trolling around and begging for recs

(This is going nowhere... stop it... Russ)

I have to say that I don't think a charge of just under 11 cents a day is particularly steep. I think there are far too many internet users who expect to get absolutely everything for free.

depends on the place where you are living...
Imagine that people in Afica that have 50$/year...or those in China that have 50$/month...for some it might be expensive...
I live in a nice country and I still think it is expensive, so the things are relative...
