Look, games like this should be played unrated. Find another game where seadevil resigns to a 1500 player. Whatever rule you give to one player should stand for all players. Have you ever resigned a game to a lower rated player? Find a game where any other player played a family member and resigned. Put the rule in the TOS. You can't play a rated game with a family member especially if you are a 1500 player.
Would seadevil have given you the draw? Me? If the answer is NO, those games should be unrated with the kid.
I don't know what he would have done, I have never asked him for a draw. I doubt it, but that really is none of my business. He should have the right to resign any time he wants. How about a game Phlab. Are you up for it?

I agree with you, but your example has nothing to do with chess or the rent he has paid. It also has nothing to do with being allowed to play his own game as he sees fit.
