Whatever! Mr. Akizy plays the more exciting openings. Plus he took the time to look at this thread and start those two games! what a cool guy 🙂 he's got my vote!

It's interesting (and rare) that both players chose gambits .. as black!

There have also technically been no new
moves played, that is, moves that i have not been able to find in a master database.

Both appear to have chosen to play their respective strengths rather than the others weakness
Yes, my particular interest is in the french defense game, as I am currentely in a USCF corr battle 35 moves into the same line. At this point (20.5 moves), there has been no deviation in their play from mine (as black and John Knudsen of CorrespondenceChess.com).

Its nice to see that both games have been (so far) quite agressive.....

Yeah, the one with weyerstrass as white i think he'll win. Akizy played his own variation didnt he? It seems it isnt turning out too well, i reckon a draw is likely but if anyone wins, itll be weyerstrass. The other game- havnt got a clue!

Here are the requirements.

You don't have to maintain such ratings, just reach it once.

You play Corr. rated games for the USCF?

You've just caught my interest...how much does it cost per game?

More interesting than the Rahimk / cmsMaster match, and without the circus act.

Game 2423892
Game 2423887

http://beta.uschess.org/frontend/section_186.php

Explains their basic formats.

http://beta.uschess.org/frontend/section_143.php is their main corr page which should link you to all other relevant pages (otherwise their search is decent if you type correspondence).

Personally, the only thing I play in is the annual Iowa Correspondence Championship http://www.iowachess.org/ccc_standings_2007.htm

I'll offer you a 2,4, or 6 game email match which would cost us each $5 or if there are a few other people on here interested we could go for a quad.

My biggest beef with USCF corr chess is all the record keeping. Server based is much easier in all respects except note/variation keeping.
