And the Grob 1.g4 can't be that good or why arn't the GM's playing it?
I'll stick with my Ruy Lopez, thanks.
Most GM's don't use the KG and it's VERY good.

It's still not the best option, especially if you're a weak player. King's Gambit beats everybody though... 🙂.

No, it's just a bad opening (Sorry dragon...) Like I said, the King's Gambit is the best.

Yeah, you already said that, and if you can tell me what 1.g4 does then I'll let you play it and not bother you.

usually your opponent plays d5 and you play Bg2 which is supposed to control the game, then your opponent takes the g4 pawn and you play c4

I agree with that. But in a couple seconds Dragon Fire's going to tell us about how he's 10000-0-0 with it on RHP. 😀

If you like the idea's behind the Grob then I suggest 1.b4 for the following reasons.

1) its a little more sound than the duboius 1.g4

2) seeing as the grob is nowadays quite famous the supprise element it once had is long gone --

3) not a lot of theory, thus nobody has written thousands of refutations and variations of it.
