The way I see it is that allowing oneself to be timed out is a blunder, just like any other blunder in chess. Those who can't handle it shouldn't play chess, but should play something a little less damaging to their super inflated egos.

Bah,

This whole post is clearly a bid to shame Gaskit into a rematch.

I thought you were chess players.

Do you really suppose I thought the magic Chess Fairy was going to flitter in and reverse the outcome of the game?
you "thought" we were chess players?

from your profile: "My strategy for victory is without mercy. Weakness will be hammered away. In my mind a system of play will develop before which my opponents will crumble. My game will be brutal, domineering, fearless, and cruel. My game must be that, and yet I too must bear pain. There must be nothing weak and gentle.
The fearsome beast of victory will rage across the board, and all will bleed.
That is how I will eradicate my opponents. That is how I shall play."

if what you describe above is chess, I hope no one ever becomes a chess player. and you come talk about chess sportmanship, etc. what a shame.

you lost, and its fair!

so why we use the time control?

Some times, we cas save a lost game. stalemate for exemple. I never resign unless its an abvious mate in one or two moves, we play for fun not for the rating.

Now I have to laugh!

To lose and then whine makes this guy lose all face too!

I have a line in my profile where one can read: "I never remind, I always take skulls." This means, of course, that I deny any right to whine if, and when, I lose on time. Or I too will lose face.

Nice try, but you're still wrong.

you had lost to a 1000?!?!
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

No, so that everyone can see that I'm not a whimp when it comes to TOs.

There was a long weekend where I live that was spent with family.
As I mentioned, at a mate in I thought I could be confident that no one would stoop as low as claiming a time out win.

The way I would like to "deal with it" is a rematch.
Which the outclassed player is refusing.

I don't think you could seriously say that taking ...[text shortened]... is an very sportsmanlike thing to do.
This is chess, not "collect wins any way possible"
Maybe if you weren't such a skint-flint to part with fifteen quid, rather than raping the site, you could have put up your vacation flag and all would be swell

Nice.

And yes, as I have already mentioned. I do realize that I lost the game within in what can only be called a legitimate fashion. In hindsight I realize that I have made my profile entry too scary and it is obviously the reason for Gaskits scooping of the skull. If it had been more along the lines of.
" Hi, I love chess and rainbows and knitting bible scenes into decorative shawls. I hope we have a really fun time playing together!" He probably would have restrained himself.

3 days per move is a little different than OTB with a clock though. And regardless of all the hardcore stances I am seeing here I still do not believe that many of you would have done this. But that is only an article of faith.

LOL, I just looked at his profile too. I have to say that if I were his opponent, based on that, I would expect him to skull me immediately "without mercy" and so I would do the same to him. There is no longer any debate here imo. He got what he implied he would do himself.

This may turn out to be a life-altering experience for you after all. You're beginning to realize that rainbows and Bible scenes can sometimes be mightier than brutality and the fearsome beast of victory.

Go in peace.
