Ha, ha stupid comments.

Let the men play like men, and not hide in bathrooms after every move and be crybabies. - I didn't get my private bathroom so I won't play with you. LOL. And this man is a contender for the World Chess Title.

In your small world you can have a cheater for Champion, but in the genuine world the honest people should not allow that in the 21st century.

Another point that you don't know.
Topalov's team has requested the video records from the firs 2 games as well, but the organizational team (supervisor or whatever they call them) refused to give them.

I am trying to GUESS WHY?

May be a smart lawyer who makes the right wrong and the wrong right will give us the most “nice” answer that will fit TommyC and a few others.

Ah, shame, the poor guy has to use a different loo. What a disaster! I'm sure my game would go to potty if I had to use a different loo. Really, the childishness from both sides is astounding.

But the one thing that Topalov has in his favour in this whole business is that he has played the FIDE game, followed "the rules", paid his $5000 "objection" deposit and made his protest. FIDE ruled partially in his favour, and repaid his deposit.

Kramnik will get nowhere flouting this ruling. Standing in front of a closed bathroom door is complete stupidity. Had he sat down and played the game, even die-hard Topolov fans would have admired his actions. Instead he ends up looking like a prize prat.

It's like a penalty being awarded against you in a game of soccer when clearly the attacker took a dive. What do you do? Walk off the pitch or dust yourself down and get on with the game?

Alright! This would make a great tv soap opera.

Unification after many years! It's finally going to happen.

I'm not playing anymore, well neither am I.

The world is torn once again. Will there ever be 1 true champion?

Tune it tommorrow.

On a side note, I kept going into the washroom because I like pacing and there isn't enough room in the rest room.

Are you serious? Isn't his whole team in the rest room and isn't it traditional to sit at the board and wait for your opponent to move.

Top level chess = luxury.

You are of course right, but the thing that completely blows my mind is he HAS A 2 POINT LEAD!!! That is MASSIVE!!! It is well within his powers to draw the next 6-10 games. All he needs to do is make it to the last few games with his 2 points intact and Topolov has to throw caution to the wind. WHY is he jeopardising that? He is the only one with anything to lose by the whole thing falling apart. It's just madness 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

The continuing story of "Toiletgate":

"The World Champion Veselin Topalov is outraged by the suspicious behavior of his opponent Mr. Vladimir Kramnik who in actual fact takes his most significant decisions in the bathroom."

BUT DURING HIS VISITS ASSURANCE MUST BE GIVEN HE IS NOT CHEATING.

Topalov does not want extra rights for himself. He doesn’t mind being escorted by FIDE personnel when going to the WC.
Topalov wants only FAIR play. That’s all.

Kramnik’s refusal to play ...[text shortened]... conclusion FAIR PLAY MUST BE ASSURED.
There is serious reason why Kramnik does not like that.
Ever ask yourself why Topalov isn't directly accusing Kramnik of cheating? If he's a 'true man', why doesn't he say what he really thinks?

I started out rooting for Topalov because I like his style of play much more than Kramnik's. But this cheap psychological tactic has eroded my (and other's) support for him, and killed an interesting match.

If I were in Kramnik's position, I would do exactly the same thing. Screw FIDE and their attempts to alter signed agreements after the fact. Completely dishonorable. I salute Kramnik for not tolerating their BS.

Alternatively, if Kramnik is telling the truth and he does need to drink a lot of water (and thus make a lot of potty breaks), then making him hike off to some other bathroom (I don't know how far removed from the playing area) could be a significant problem.

BTW, Seirawan just weighed in on this--essentially in Kramnik's favor--on Chessbase.

If Kramnik felt he was better than Topalov he would have played. That's why he found the excuse of "I want my bathroom or I won't play". Now he knows he has to play on his own and that Topalov is one class above so most likely he won’t return to play.

The 2 point lead he got was because Topalov PLAYS TO WIN even if the risk is great. (There are suspicions as well that Kramnik has used outside help.)
Topalov often sacrifices pawns, creates great games and is not afraid of even losing a game doing that.

By no means Kramnik shows with his behavior characteristics of a man of honor.
Topalov is ready to play. Fair play must be assured from the Chess community.

"The relevant clause in contract of Mr. Kramnik expels: “FIDE shall provide a rest room and toilette for the players during the WCC match in the playing hall and close to the stage (if possible backstage) to be equipped with a live monitor furnished with coffee and tea as well as with light refreshments.”

The reasons that Mr. Kramnik is entering his own bathroom often is simple: The restroom is small and Mr. Kramnik likes to walk and therefore uses the space of the bathroom as well. The Appeals Committee has been informed about the issue before they decided. It should also be mentioned that Mr. Kramnik has to drink a lot of water during the games."

In case you missed it, Topalov threatened to withdraw from the match IF his demands to the conditions he agreed to weren't changed. This is no "man of honor".

Topalov is sooooooo far above, he lost the first two games of the match and has a minus score lifetime against Kramnik.

Oh, i agree, Topalov is technically a better player (IMO anyways...), but this is a competition to see who can handle the pressure of actually winning the title!!! Kramnik has done it twice!! He has beaten Kasparov, arguably the greatest match player of all time. Topalov is exceptionally good at chess, but his match play is largely untested (compaired to Kramnik anyway). Make no mistake, this is an even contest. At this level psychology plays a bigger part than technique, at their best either player can create a faultless game. The defining factor is if they can do it while fighting for the title of World. So far Topalov has failed this test, the ball is in Kramniks court, make no mistake.

Kudos to that. FIDE needs to stop feeding the world their nonsense.

Uh? Kramink is known for his technique and perfectionism - Topalov for his intuition and pragmatism. Opposites.

Did you confuse the names by mistake, like saying Bolton are famous for their creativity, Arsenal for carving out 1-0 wins on the back of a physical defense? Or do you not know what you are talking about?
