Ahhh I tried. I see the mates if the positions are reversed, but I'm just not getting it. Can someone PM me the answer? I can't see how white can check black (unblocked) and protect the f-pawn and G-rook at the same time. Likewise I tried to think outside the box..is "mates in 1" a wordplay or something? Nothing is coming.

For kicks, try finding the mate in 1 with the sides reversed. It's a nice mating puzzle for a beginner.

I got the first problem but not the 2nd.Can someone tell me what moves where in plain english eg rook to e4.I dont even know what a fen is.Thanks.
