I know they aren't the best games, and I know they're usually nothing to be proud of, but, even though I often feel bad about it, I always enjoy seeing a game (or playing a game) where a player wins (or draws) only because his opponent blunders.

If you have such a game, feel free to post it here. πŸ˜‰

For example, I would have definitely lost this game. It was just one little blunder...

Here's another game that I probably would have lost. Except for that one little mistake...

Game 3026177- I would like to nominate this game for worst chess game of the year. To say that I won it because I got lucky is an understatement.

That was great. How well do you know your endgames? He probably could have tried for the 50 move rule with the B/N endgame. But still, wow.

However, I must counter with Game 3553391. I had wanted to wait a bit to post it, but now is as good as ever. Enjoy. πŸ˜‰

It works both ways. Here’s one that I never should have won, but held out for that lucky shot. Game 3622383

Here’s one that I should have won, but made a careless move and ended up with a draw. Game 3574642

And to top it off, here’s one where I missed a mate in 1!!! (move 26 for black should have been Qd1mateπŸ™„ )and went on to resign later. Game 2654418

by move 44, it was getting ugly; down like 2 points and my opponent was just about to queen a pawn. But somehow i still win the game??!! Funny thing is, I would have accepted the draw in a second if my opponent had offered it earlier but looking back now, I'm glad i keep on playing. πŸ™‚

How on earth did you manage to win that.

It almost seems chess ability doesn't matter, you were both just dropping pieces but half the time the other guy didn't even realise it. It's a lottery - you might as well just throw dice and remove pieces.

Anyway just to show it happens to everyone, this is probably my worst game here for just dropping pieces and throwing it all away (at least 3 times). Game 2236994.

Yeah, dude...
4.d5! was begging to be played, then 4...Na5 & 5.Be2, 6.0-0, 7.Nc3 etc & you have a great game.
Mind you, after 4.d5! black may well have gone 4...Nb4?? losing the piece.

I was only 1400 when I played this game. Dropping my queen early had a psychological effect that took a while to dig myself out of.

I had this great idea to march my king up to his kingside pawns, they seemed so tasty..
