It's hard for me to imagine that a forum moderator would not know greenpawn existed. Greenpawn has been one of the most active posters on this board for a long time now.
Quite apart from whether the initial joke could have mislead new players, threatening a ban was silly. GP has contributed as much to this forum as anyone and a simple looking at a sample o ...[text shortened]... bit at his history.
Hopefully, we can just chalk this up to a misunderstanding and move on.

By the way Crowley let me introduce you to Greenpawn. He is one of the premiere authors of some of the best Chess novels one could read. An excellent chess player and the best thing about his novels is he puts humor in them to keep readers interested. I am glad you got to experience his sense of humor first hand. Please get used to his genius. He is one of the best additions to this "CHESS site" ever. He is solid Gold and a true professional.
Ps. Also there wouldn't have been a need for you to send your "wee green light" distress call out to your usual defenders in crime who generally come to your aid. Because it was easy to tell even they felt shame in defending you this time. Their weak hearts just wasn't in it. I am glad you finally maned up though. OK, I'm gloating just a little too much, because the truth is no one is perfect and you finally did the right thing and realized your error and reversed it. I accept the fact he did not know me, why should he?
I was quite livid and worried.
I thought I was going to get banned for a joke and was worried
people would think I was a racist or a sicko.
You know what people on here can be like 2 + 2 = 5.
Then of course I lost the plot completely but was adamant
I was never going to post again and if I never had these lads in
Bates Motel I would have been off.
Went out for a few hours and actually forgot all about it.
Logged back in and saw over 40 PM's sitting there.
Most agreed it was a harmless joke. with the others I had some
smashing rows, better than any game of chess. 🙂
Accepted it was all a misunderatanding and that was that.
Will keep 'wee green light gags' going till I get bored with it.
