Only thing is , I used it in a club forum a year or 2 ago so someone may have remembered it:-
A group of people are waiting in a queue after travelling over 8 hours to get to the back of it
After some time they get to the front.
At this point they leave the queue and go back to where they originally set out from.
Why?
It's not anything to do with bargains in a store, or tickets being sold out or sports stadiums being full.

Methinks the queue itself was actually the objective - something like people moving past a viewing platform (or something like a very expensive KFC drive-through!) after which event they returned home again.
But what is the event one would drive eight hours for??
The location is the key as it is with most of these things.
