Russ, are you listening? Are you interested in making modifications for clan chess?
Essentially, creating two divisions. This would allow the larger and/or more industrious clans to battle between themselves in one division, while the smaller and/or less driven clans could compete amongst themselves while not feeling it is for naught. Interdivisional play would be allow ...[text shortened]... it shouldn't be a nightmare for a wizard like yourself to accomplish.

Maybe the currently accumulated stats could indicate a reasonable cutoff point or points between divisions?
And speaking as someone who (to my great regret!) innocently stepped into a certain controversy in "Major Arcana 0, The Fool" mode years ago, maybe also a separate clan rating or some other system to discourage the throwing of clan games after one clan or the other had won the match.
