Then that would have been an ad hominem, without a doubt.

But that wasn't what happened either.

A classic example of FMF blinkers:

FMF actually insults someone by saying they ARE handicapped: not an ad hominem.

Someone asks FMF if he is handicapped by any chance: a definite ad hominem.

I rest my case.

You deflected my arguments (on page 1 of that thread) by characterizing them as "hateful" and suggested that me being "handicapped" would "explain it". That's what an ad hominem is. Questioning whether autism was the cause of your behaviour was neither an ad hominem (it was not deflecting any argument you'd made) nor was it an insult.

You did exactly the same thing, the only difference being you said I was handicapped and I asked you whether you were. Yet somehow mine is an ad hominem and your's isn't.
