Someone asks me "Do you expect more rewards in Heaven?"

A more proper attitude for a Christian to have when he comes before Christ, if has served exceptionally well, he should still admit that he only did what was his responsibility to have done. He still feels unworthy of gracious grace.

He only came up to the standard and did not exceed the standard.

S ...[text shortened]... We are unprofitable slaves; we have done what we ought to have done." (Luke 16:10)
How can one exceed the standard of perfection?

How can one exceed the standard of perfection?

I think I mean the standard of cooperation.
I'll have to think about it.

In the meantime, I want to write this:

To write poetry us a great skill, or to compose music, or to produce some work of art, or even build great architecture.
To perform noble deeds of charity is grand.

But the grandest and most noble skill is the skill of voluntarily turning over one's own being, chamber by chamber of his soul, to Jesus Christ.

It is the most noble skill - the skill of surrendering up each and every corner of your heart to Jesus.

Hymn 1025
SUBJECT: GOSPEL-NEED OF CHRIST
METER: 8.7.8.7.D.
AUTHOR: Witness Lee
COMPOSER: Anon.

1Give up the world, Christ to obtain,
He is your heart’s very need;
What else can you desire or seek?
All things are empty indeed!

Chorus
He is so rich, He is so full,
He can fulfill all your needs!
He is so good, He is so sweet,
All your desire He exceeds!

2Give up the world, Christ to obtain,
He is the One you require;
Once you receive this glorious Christ,
Never the rest you’ll desire.

3Though very great is all the world,
And very small is your heart,
Yet the great world with all its wealth
Never can fill your small heart.

4If you have Christ, you have all joys;
Without this Christ, only pains;
Where there is Christ there morning is;
Where He is not, night remains.

Do you expect to get more "rewards" in "Heaven" than him?

Okay, I'll humor this little gem. Expect FMF just to hunt for fault with it.

The question seems to suggest that Christians go to heaven to get rewards. I don't like the leading assumption because it undercuts that the spiritual battle is over "the earth" .

So let's adjust it a bit ...[text shortened]... rd awaits me. And not only me but awaits ALL THOSE who love the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Do you expect to get more "rewards" in "Heaven" than divegeester?

Think all you want, deflect all you want, fact remains: if your argument is not consistent with logic then it will continue to have holes in it.

You would agree, wouldn’t you, that that is much easier said than done?

FMF take note, this is an example of an ad hominem.

He’s not handicapped, he’s handicapable, tiger. You know what Miss Alawat taught you when you come across a handicapable person - don’t stare and say to yourself, “There but for the grace of God go I.”

<Here is your checkmate question>

How many times do you plan on saying “checkmate?”

Given how few checkmates you deliver on the chessboard, I suppose it’s only natural for you to prattle on about them in a linguistic way.

Why not improve your chess skills instead, tiger?

You are mistaken (and so is divegeester).

"You are a very weak debater Daniel" is not an ad hominem.

"You are a person with a disability, FMF" is not an ad hominem.

"You are a very weak debater Daniel and that is the reason why your latest debating point is weak" is an ad hominem.

"You are a person with a disability, FMF, and that's the reason why your arguments are hateful" is an ad hominem.

You’re making no sense, Kiddo.

Do you know what an ad hominem is? ‘Cause it seems from this post that you don’t.
