Well said. Nemesio, my friend, I pray that one day your eyes will be opened to what we are saying. You could be so POWERFUL a witness for Christ.

I listened to James Dobson's 'Focus on the Family' on the radio today. He quoted a scripture that said a man who abandons his family is worse than a nonbeliever.

That seems to contradict your statement, though I am not certain that it does so.

Too bad Jesus says the 'give food to the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, give clothes to the
naked, and visit the sick and imprisoned.'

Too bad that, according to your own dictates, you are going to be shepherded into the fires of
Gehenna with all the other goats.

You are both lying to yourselves if you think that your only vocation is to attend to the so-called
'poor in spirit.' If you aren't feeding the hungry, then don't pack a sweater in your 'death bag.'
It's gonna be plenty hot where you're going.

Nemesio...do you realize that no matter how intelligent you are, the Bible will be gibberish to you until you admit to God that you need His spirit for discernment?

You can convince yourself that 'discernment' means something special, but anyone willing to
believe in the literality of obviously metaphorical stuff is just a fool.

Furthermore, anyone who denies the literality of Jesus's charge to attend to the physical needs of
the physical poor is just a modern-day hypocritical Pharisee, the very type of people whose
    behavior Jesus found detestable.

It should bother you that you are lying to yourself, Darfius. I can't force you to feel it, but I can
(and will) point it out whenever I observe it.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the
    gospel to every creature.

16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
    believeth not shall be damned.

16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 16:18 They
shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall
not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
    recover.

I wonder if RBHILL and Darfius have the qualifications that Christ requires?

There is more to what Jesus said in Matthew Ch. 25 Read all of the Gospel and Acts and Revelation he specks in all those books and he also used people to right the other Books.

Jesus even says he came for the Lost and if you say you are not a sinner in need of him he will not save you.

Yes, there is more to what Jesus says. Fair enough.

However, it is 100% clear that feeding the hungry &c are necessary actions for a
    Christian.

Are you doing that RBHILL? When was the last time you gave food to the hungry?

Necessary? Of course not. Likely to happen if you're truly saved? Of course.

Ephesians 4:11 And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,

Well sense I have found a new Church resently, I know I will get that chance to go to some homeless shelter to feed the poor and hungry and maybe read the Bible. So Praise God when I get that Chance.

How can 'all nations' be gathered and Judgment be pronounced on those
who are present (again: all nations) and have the explicit criterion be 'helping
those in need' and it not be necessary?

You CHOOSE not to do so.
