he's a shady character. he's in deep, how deep is hard to say.

why did the christian church need so much money? i thought jesus operated with low overheads. he preached on the move and could magic food and drink as and when needed. the story implies many people sold their houses to give money to the apostles. that sounds like a lot of hard cash...........mmnnnnnnnnnnn......the plot thickens.........

Jesus was no longer there to tell them what fish to catch that had a gold coin. They were required to fend for themselves. 😏

The wages of sin is death. The human condition seems to excuse all kinds of
bad behavior while God does not, there is a price to be paid for it. What do
you think should happen to a sinful man who sins right in front of a Holy God
just to make himself look good to other men?

You really do need to READ the book of Acts, there was a body of believers
who were attempting to take care of themselves. People where giving up
everything they had and counted all their positions as God's, while those
two who were killed attempted to look that part but didn't really want to
do what it took. There wasn't a "church" denomination the faith was just
getting started the body of believers was growing but it didn't have a
human guide, they were looking to the Holy Spirit to guide them. The
leaders were the Apostles who were NOT appointed by men but selected by
Jesus Christ when He was walking among them. This was a new thing, it
was just getting off the ground and the Jewish leaders of the day didn't
really like it either, so things didn't go well after awhile.

Really, again Holy God, sinful man sins right in God's face as God is doing a
work right in the aftermath of Jesus coming back from the dead!? I guess you
don't believe in good and evil or think about what Holy means for you to just
dismiss this out of hand. All the complaining people have done here of late
about God telling people to deal out His judgments now you see God doing it
directly and you still think God owes us a life.

The real question you should be asking is were they still saved?
