No purgatory, no limbo. If you die an unrepentant unbeliever, the elevator will be taking you down to the smoking section.

Awesome. Please quote verses from the canon that explicitly support the doctrine of purgatory and limbo.

Your version of the Bible is only six words long - Do good works. Jesus will judge.

No cross, no Resurrection. You miss the most important parts.

I have heard it said that there is no grades within heaven -- at least in the sense that we will all inherit the same joys and splendor, whether we were literally Saints on Earth or that we "barely made it."

HOWEVER, it is also taught that all things shall become known. That is to say, those who were very righteous and endured evil will have this know ...[text shortened]... ake away someone's good name, it cannot easily be restored, and perhaps never fully be restored.
You are confusing the two parts of Gods kingdom. One part is the reign of Christ for a thousand yrs and the other is the New Jerusalem which lasts forever.

Didn't Paul speak of a cleansing “fire” in order that “he” might finally be saved and enter into the joy of the Lord?

Sounds a lot like Purgatory to me.

'...and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.'

I Corinthians 3:11-15

The most important part of the bible is Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is the Kingdom of God
Jesus Christ is eternal life
Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the light.
Jesus Christ's teachings is the road to salvation

Show me one part of the teachings of Jesus Christ where he says
... the cross or resurrection is the most important parts...

The canon? What is that? Is that your Bible ? The Bible is Gods word given to the Jews [the Hebrew Torah] and then the writings of the Apostles which came after. So the Bible starts with the Greek Septuagint. Tell me you know what that is and then i can continue. Other wise you are wasting my time.

By the way Ghost of Duke a professed atheist clearly knows the Bible better then you do. Read his post. Check the scripture and tell me what you think that says.

And there are more like it.

I think there is also something in Matthew, but would need to look it up.

Yes, Matt does reference it. There is the one I think I mentioned to you sometime ago about Jesus preaching to the dead from Noahs time, a clear eg of purgatory.

But lets see what he says ..

Let's hope it's not the predictable attempt to separate works from persons. "Sure, my 'works' might go through the fire chaps, but me, a believer, will escape it!"

Wise man say, 'We 'are' what we 'do' when it comes to our moral actions.

You blab a lot about Jesus. Too bad you don't know the real Jesus.
