Twisting my words again I see. If you think people won’t see your questions as trolling that’s fine by me. I believe I can see right through you. All the smoke and mirrors aren’t fooling me.
I am not "twisting" your words. I am rejecting your use of the words "trolling" and "hypocrisy". As I said, you appear to want to keep how you see yourself - as a Christian - a secret. But you aren't keeping how you see others - as Christians - a secret? You are asking others questions that you yourself dodge.

If you are a Christian I don’t believe you have to announce it to everyone. They should be able to see for themselves.

Regarding the OP: I do believe that from the "Baby Boomers" forward; succeeding generations have grown permissive of self-pity.

There was a time when suffering with dignity was an expectation. Evidence of that ethos is scattered all across many Depression Era films and journalistic media.

Why this happened is subject to debate: But it certainly has happened.

Everyone knows you have announced yourself to be a Christian. Anyone can do that. Romans1009 did that, for example, and - as if it somehow substantiated his claim - he regurgitated loads of scripture. It was what it was.

But I am not asking you to substantiate anything. I am not asking you what you think OTHER people make of you as a Christian. I am asking you if YOU, by your OWN standards, see YOURSELF as being someone who exhibits the "love of Christ" and "His commands".

And the reason I am asking you is because you asked someone else but have been stonewalling since the same question was posed to you.

The reason I am asking you is because this simple thing is making you behave very strangely. And this makes the cul-de-sac - that you - and only you - have backed into - rather intriguing.

Do you have a scriptural basis for this belief?

I don’t see you addressing the person that stone walled the question I asked first. Hypocrisy much?

You interjecting and posing the question I asked first back at me and expecting me to answer but saying nothing of the person ignoring my question is yet again another bit of hypocrisy on your side.

So it’s quite clear that you’re trolling and hence my reluctance to play along. You’re the one backing into a cul-de-suc.

I am a sinner saved by grace. I have never claimed that I can meticulously follow the teachings of Christ without fail. The fact is no one can. Not even Raj. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The flaw in his doctrine is that he thinks we can save ourselves with our own good works.

Ephesians 2:8 ESV

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

2 Corinthians 11:30

If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

More pointless meaningless irrelevant church nonsense. I have heard nobody [certainly not me], claim to meticulously follow the teachings of Christ. I have never said that I think .. we can save ourselves with our own good works. Not once. Nowhere in the bible is there ever a suggestion that anyone should boast. You are really a dunce.

If you want to label words quoted directly from the Bible as ‘meaningless irrelevant church nonsense’ then that’s your prerogative. So can you categorically state whether you believe salvation is earned or not?

I believe in Jesus Christ and those are not His words. Tell me what Jesus said about salvation and eternal life. If you want misrepresent the words of Paul then thats your prerogative.

If you aren’t going to believe all of the Bible why believe any of it at all?

You came up with that nonsense statement before and I answered. i will do it again because you are very thick.

Reading and understanding the whole bible is not necessary for eternal life in the Kingdom of God. What is necessary is keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for all of mankind and thereby paid the debt owing for sin. Jesus saved all people, and Jesus said that IF someone does good works and lives righteously THEN they will get eternal life in the Kingdom of God.

Apparently you choose Paul as your saviour. I chose Jesus.

He said those that believe in Him we will be saved.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
John 5:24

Then they said to him, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?" Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent."
John 6:28‭-‬29

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John 3:16‭-‬18

On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'" Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:37‭-‬39

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" She said to him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world."
John 11:25‭-‬27

And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:15‭-‬16
