Yes it was a bit of a “sonship”.

This piece caught my eye though:
How can anyone believe in something they have never heard of?

This is my exact point with you on this; it is you who said they could believe and be saved without the bible, on page one. You are not being clear about how this could happen and seem to be contradicting yourself. Why don’t you help me understand how what you said on page one could happen please?

The truth is what matters as you pointed out, you can get that through word of mouth, or
I imagine other ways. The Bible contains it, but when I'm sharing Jesus' gospel I'm just
talking to them, or writing about it, I'm not putting a Bible in front of their faces.

The reality or truth of Jesus Christ is what matters, the Bible contains it, but it is also found
in the testimony of Jesus' followers whose lives have changed by God. What good would
it do to share the whole of the Bible, if none of it were truly real? It is God moving in our
lives that matters, and within the Bible we can see this too. There are people who cannot
read that believe, there are people who hearing the truth for the fist time believe, there
are people who have had the Bible with them their whole lives that still don't believe.

The reality of Jesus Christ in our lives is without a doubt the most important thing, and I
will tell you He is the best part of life too. Through thick and thin, He never leaves us, He
restores our souls, nothing in this life is better.

Are you saying that in your first post in this thread you are talking about people receiving the gospel verbally?

No Bible > no Jesus story > no Christianity.

Q: Christianity without the Bible - would it exist?

Correct answer: No.
Incorrect answer: Yes.

You "don't know" if the supposedly divinely inspired account of Jesus' life and significance is necessary for the existence of a religion based solely on that divinely inspired account of Jesus' life and significance?

If the account of Jesus is true and God wanted to reveal it to people he could use whatever means he wants. So if the Bible didn't exist how do we know that God would not have used another means to reveal it to us?

What other means?

I don't know. Hence I said the answer is I don't know. God could use any means He wants, if the Bible didn't exist it would mean He chose another means.

Ergo, the bible is not required?

From the Christian perspective the Bible is Gods chosen revelation to mankind. If the Bible didn't exist God could have chosen another means.

Maybe you could speculate. You have already speculated that there would be some other means. Why not speculate about what form that means might take?

Receiving the gospel is what is important, the truth. God has to do the rest, He is the
author and finisher of our faith, not a book. The book is good, but God isn't limited to just
that, He does however use it. It is better to have a static story (written) than one that
people may suggest is true when they alter it to suit their desires, so no one could be the
wiser outside of those that actually know the truth, not those still in the dark.

Nothing is impossible with God which basically was what you were asking, could God maintain Christianity without the Bible. What He could have done isn’t as important as what He did do.
