So "let's just say" he did die another way. So if so, his death would have been for nothing..Right?

I don't think His death would've been for nothing, but it happened that way because that's how He wanted it.

A better question is why do so many christians wear a symbol of the murder weapon around their necks. This morbid behavior may have its roots in the bible somewhere, but it seems like loving our neighbors looks better and with a more harmonious outcome to boot.

I've always though about the cross. Its kinda like hanging an electric chair around your neck. On the contrary however it I guess it should be the symbol that reminds of what Christ did. Obviously we don't want to worship the symbol though.

'like hanging an elestric chair aound your neck'-classic lol
I've often thought why some churches have a bloody and dying, tortured , jew nailed to a cross . Blood running down in his neck in streaks. Very weird, if you think about it.

We're showing it to non-christians, we aren't "worshipping" it, it is our sign of Faith.

You may not worship it yourself but many millions of others do. I personally have seen many kiss it and say prayers to it. You only pray to God thru Jesus. How do you view the virgin Mary?

Right, you can kiss it and say prayers, IN FRONT OF IT, but you are not worshipping it. The mother of God.

Also a lot of non christians were hung on the torture contraptions. If anything it is the opposite of a symbol of love. I can not see Daniels cross through this computer screen but I can tell Daniel is truly a person of love and compassion for the fellow man.
