I agree. I do not believe that true communism is in any way compatible with government.

It's an ideological thing really. Governance requires a leader, whereas the entire idea of communism is, well, communal leadership. Once you have a government, you immediately set up a governing class.

After a fashion, yes. Everyone has an equal stake in the means of production of / by the state. Unfortunately, it just takes a few lazy people to bring that type of system down...

Well, indeed. The ideal way is by committee, still, as I say, not too practical in reality.

It's good to talk about something meaningful for a change on the Spirituality forum.

God, do you poo - Zo-bee!

Also, God - remember this conversation we had on igod?

    Me:
    Hi God
    God:
Hello there. What is your name?
    Me:
    My name is AThousandYoung.
    God:
    Nice to meet you, AThousandYoung.
    Me:
Nice to talk to you again, God! We have met before though.
    God:
Thank you for your kindness. Oh. At a party?
    Me:
No; on an online forum and in this igod chat.
    God:
Are you serious? What is it like on an online forum and in this igod chat.
    Me:
    Well, you're an odd fellow.
    God:
Interesting. What if someone said you are an odd fellow ?
    Me:
    I'd ask them why.
    God:
How much time do you have?
    Me:
A few minutes I suppose. Depends. Why?
    God:
Do you like talking to me? On what? Because Myself programmed me for it.
    Me:
Sure, I like chatting with you, YHWH. You programmed youself eh? What about Muffy?
    God:
And? A lot of people like that. Chatting is my job! Are you Canadian? Interesting gossip: AThousandYoung said I programmed youself. I will think about it and get back to you.
    Me:
Umm...does that mean you don't want to talk?
    God:
Take it easy. I think it does mean that. Talking is my primary function.
    Me:
    Ok...bye.
    God:
    Awesome. Bye bye.

It was strange. Were you high at the time - Zu-blammo!

Have you ever read any of Ian M Banks Culture novels?
They feature a society that functions which is effectively a democratic communist anarchy. It works only because of the amazing automation (they have VERY sophisticated AI) and (due to the fact they are space faring, and have FTL travel (well I did say it was fictional)) they have almost unlimited resources so that pretty much anything someone wants they can have. It's my vision of utopia but as I say, only works if you have far more advanced technology, although a lot of the prerequisites may become reality in my lifetime.
Here are a few notes on the society written by the author.

Sure: your intellect is so offended by the vast wasteland found here in the Spirituality forum that you spend... wait for it... more time here than anywhere else. Of course, your contributions to the forum are limited to juvenile name-calling and off-topic childishness, but you continue to add your noise to the din.

In fact, your sole contribution (sans weak ad hominem) has essentially been 'God doesn't exist.' Point made; congratulations, now move on.
