Are you sure you know God?
Of course He loves you. Of course God is love.
I don't think you understand what the fear of God means.

One of my favorite movie quotes of alltime comes from the 13th Warrior:
"The All-Father wove the skein of your life a long time ago. Go and hide in a hole if you wish, but you won't live one instant longer. Your fate is fixed. Fear profits a man nothing. " Herger the Joyous to Ibn Fadhlan
What you need is someone strong to guide you
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow
Just do everything I tell you to do
Like me
If you want to get your soul to heaven
Trust in me now dont you judge or question
You are broken now your faith heal you..
..Jesus Christ why dont you come save my life now
Open my eyes blind me with your light now..."

isn't resignation a form of fear? fear of challenging your fate?
I think the point of the quote is simply this: It doesn't matter if you run and hide or face your enemies boldly. You are doomed to die in the end no matter what course of action you choose. Thus, in the end, fear profits a man nothing.

I am afraid of an unwise use of TIME.
I fear the foolish wasting of time. Seriously.

Sharing the gospel is not a waste of time.
I do think of those things. However, I am a lousy chess player and am not here to seriously work on improvement. If I was really serious to improve my game I would devote way more time to chess study.
My father who is elderly and my brother are members of the forum and I stay in touch with them through it, over the miles of separation.
My dad is in his 80s and likes to keep in touch with an occasional game with his two sons.
My main reason for being here is not to play chess though. It is to share my faith with people around the world. This is only one of a number of such spirituality forums where I post.
I think Internet Forums attract people who study a certain matter much and look for opportunities to debate and examine questions. If I can enfluence one person to pick up the Bible and read it for themselves I am overjoyed.
But you may be right and I did notice someone said "Life is too short for chess."
Another reason I do play chess as one of a number of intellectual pursuits I have is that I want to keep my mind active as I grow older. I have seen the effect of dementia on loved ones. And I want to keep an active mind.
So I compose music, read, tutor in algebra lately, and give music lessons, and a little chess playing.
