I think it's the other way around. If you can't find (or can't have) a partner,
and the pressure builds up, not shaking willy could be a real problem. In fact, I
suspect that's the problem we see in some priests.

yes its a figure of speech i think. I agree the prohibition on marriage is both anti-Biblical and unnatural and is condemned in scripture! The Bible is quite explicit and frank about sexual relationships between husband and wife.

There's also the overwhelming evidence of obesity and heart disease, but no one stops eating. There's evidence that driving a car maims and kills people, but people still drive anyway.
Sure, we could build a bunker and hide there, afraid of all the bad things that might happen to us if we venture out into the world and actually experience it. But what a waste of a life that would be.

There is a purpose to that encouragement in the Bible. ie to avoid sleeping around. If you want to have sex then have it with someone you are going to stay with.
