one does not follow the other, his lack of understanding has been demonstrated here time and again. one does not need understanding to be "saved" in new testament terms. only faith is required for that dog and pony show.

That was salesmen, plural. There was no single one who started it all, the religion thing has been going on for 10,000 years or more.
It is time the human race started maturing and begin to put away the crutch of religion and start thinking for themselves, and realize that maybe THEY are gods who invented it all, all the god stories, purely fiction made up by humans. Humanity has an extreme need to go past all that and realize humans are in charge of their own destiny not some god and start living lives with that in mind.
Of course, with people like you and billions of others like you that is just a pipe dream, we will probably be driven extinct with the last human holding up a bible and asking his god why and of course get no answer because humans were the god of the planet all along but they couldn't give other people the respect deserved of other gods and put a big imaginary god above all of us and look what it has done to the planet so far. Face it, no god is coming down to save anyone and if we screw up the planet and drive ourselves extinct, no god is going to come down to fix all the boo boo's, and the sooner people figure that one out, the faster we can fix the planet and not wait around thinking some god or other will fix everything and give us an eternal home.
That is just weak minded thinking that is killing the human race.
