But why?
What is your primary reason for believing?

Except maybe an interest in posting in this forum to the contrary?
Since you believe there is a creator, why do you think there is nothing more to know other than that?
Do you completely reject the possibility that this God has revealed Himself to man in more tangible ways?
Why?

I have to go now, so it may be a few days even.
If I don't think you caught my reply I'll send you a PM and let you know.
It could be a week.

Originally posted by whodeyI don't believe in any gods and so dont espouse John W Booths beliefs, but I say when one has honestly come up with an exhaustive list off all the things a non-supernatural person can know about supernatural things, then that list is empty. To this end I have slightly more respect for the blind belief in something completely undefined (and vacuous) than blind belief in something for which the definitions attached to such are unjustified. (Though the magnitude of "slightly" here is still neglible).

On a philosophical level, why is an inactive god a problem? Must some god that exists necessarily interact with humans???

Why? Just look at what you have created in your lifetime. Things that you create are a reflection of who and what you are. Likewise, Biblically we are said to be created in the image of God. What you create speaks volumes as to who and what you are. It indicates your intelligence level, it indicates what is important to you etc, etc. As human beings, relationships are what makes the world go round. So if that is not what makes God tick, then he has effectively created something that is completely foriegn to him and in which he has no interest. Why would he waste his time?
Sorry, I just don't buy it.
