Is Jesus Willing?

Is Jesus Willing?

Spirituality

Mark 1:40-45 tells the story of Jesus healing the man with leprosy. What's interesting about this account is in the way the man asked his question. He didn't just ask to be healed, he asked Jesus if He was 'willing' to heal him.

It's clear that God and/or Jesus can heal us....but are they willing to?

Any comments?

I'm serious here.

Is Jesus NOT willing, at times, to heal? It seems that the man knew something in advance, which is why he worded his question in that way.

Suppose it were you, how would you pose the question to Christ. I would have been like that man .. ask if Christ was willing.. . I would not have demanded. Are you the demanding type?

The term 'willing' here, seems to imply 'if you feel like it'. Or something else that the man knew, and we don't.

It seems clear that Jesus picked and choosed who He healed and who He didn't.

Was Jesus willing to heal some, and ignore others?

If so, what does that say about modern day prayer?

You know what my point is, but choose to be arrogant.

Like a lot of other people here you put too much focus on one word.

Even if that word is a word that anyone might use in casual conversation.

I'm with Rajk (yeah, I know, me too...) on this, in that your point is nonsensical.

So just blow it off?

The man asked if Jesus was willing.

I dunno .. you have to pray and ask God about that 🙂

Jesus did not come to heal all people of their physical ailments. Hence the reason why he told so many not to tell anyone.

Then He doesn't seem so powerful. Or willing.
