If it happens it is most likely that the Chinese will be doing the enslaving. According to a magazine I read recently some Chinese are Xenophobic and their government is playing on that to some extent. Apparently many of them are not happy about the fact that they were responsible for many of the worlds inventions yet they never really benefited from it all. With the wrong leader in China (someone like Mugabe) we could all be in trouble.

Yet hold on strongly to your identity as 'Italian' when you are actually American. To me that sounds like 'getting along but not mixing or really identifying with'.
I also suspect that there are a lot of Italians who do not get along with everybody else.
