… with God and with people.

Sin (from the religious perspective) and/or wronging someone (from the secular perspective) are like financial debt.

It’s best to pay it off/settle quickly because there is usually interest to pay on it; from either perspective.

Thoughts?

I’m not sure you fully understand the nature of sin. From a secular perspective, let’s say we had a perfect person who never did anything wrong, fulfilled their duties to the community, was a faithful husband, father, and employee for 50 years, and was impeccable in all aspects of their life. At his job, there was an underage girl who liked him, and he decided to pursue her, which ultimately proved successful. Now that one sinful act has compromised his life, does it matter that he was good to his wife, children, fellow employees, the girl's family, and his employer for 50 years? He was trustworthy all the time before, but now he cannot be trusted all the time. One sin can destroy so many lives as the effects spread throughout our lives.

With God, who sees the beginning from the end, knows how things will fall out if we act in a loving way or not. And unlike us, who live in this little sliver of time called now, God occupies the beginning and the end, so our sins are eternal things that we cannot wash away with Him; we cannot clean ourselves. What we often fail to realize is how good God is and how bad we are, since even our thoughts and deeds are all before God. When we hate someone and God commands us to love everyone, that is a sin; it doesn’t matter who we hate, the devil doesn’t care who you hate; he wants you to hate.

Without God being our Savior, we are doomed to die in our sins.

I was just talking about day-to-day stuff; minor offences given, poor thoughts etc. and keep short accounts with those involved.

No such thing as little sins.

So if you're going to sin, go large?
Great advice.

There are different levels of sin.
Some sins are punished much more severely than others; both in the Old Testament and the new. In life and society also.

The wages of din? I have no idea what "din" costs these days? 😛 🙂
I do know that a Tin can of coffee is now close to $25.00 a can at Walmart; All thanks to our Orange 'Child-molester and Thief' MAGA's false god.

Do you have any idea of the wages of "The Epstein Files"? the long account?

I agree 100%. When and if we come to God, God's Godliness and Goodness become our Lord. If we have harmed people, it is up to us to attempt to fix the harm we have caused if at all possible; without hurting others; and sometimes without hurting ourselves, (in my opinion).

This is also in the 12 steps of A.A. Alcoholics Anonymous; the original version.
Alcoholics Anonymous is usually a good Godly 12 step program for anyone to get their relation with God either started, or back on track. It is also a good program for non-believers to get their lives back on track also.

We do this knowing that God forgives us, and that we are to keep striving for the upward call in Christ Jesus. Even most Atheist's that I know strive in their lives to be better, at being good, humane, and loving people. It makes us feel better about ourselves no matter the cost. That's the Jesus in all of us in my opinion. Some just follow Him more than others in their actions; words and talk are cheap; Love is a Verb.

[Matthew 15:7-9, 18-19 NKJV] 7 "Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: 8 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with [their] lips, But their heart is far from Me. 9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching [as] doctrines the commandments of men.' "

A typo, hopefully you knew I meant ‘sin’. You are discussing politics as if that will alter God’s opinion of sin. That is ‘sin’ with an ‘s.’ 😊

I lied to my boss to finish work early, in order to take the cat to the vet. Meanwhile the chap down the street murdered his postman.

Are our sins equal, or is one little in comparison to the other?

No, I'm exposing "sin" to those whom worship it. 🙂

Who worships sin? Typically, an object is worshiped, not an action or lack thereof.
